Polarkonsult has appointed Randi Kvernmo Rokkerud as the new head of its Energy Department. She has worked as a project engineer in the company for the past two years and is now taking the next step—leading a growing department.

“Randi was evaluated against several strong candidates. We had three solid finalists in the last round of interviews, and the choice fell on Randi. We look forward to the journey she and the company are now embarking on together—both in developing her as a leader and in further strengthening the Energy Department,” says Managing Director Thomas Myhre.

Snøhvit Future in Focus

As department head, Randi will be responsible for projects within energy, oil and gas, as well as renewables. The role includes close collaboration with clients and operators on the Norwegian continental shelf, as well as with companies investing in green onshore energy.

Currently, the Snøhvit Future project occupies most of the department’s capacity. The team is working on documentation, training videos, and updates to technical materials for the systems being upgraded as part of the project.

The department also has experience from major projects such as Johan Castberg, Aasta Hansteen, Norne, and Melkøya, and has contributed to deliveries for several major operators on the Norwegian shelf.

Background from the Royal Norwegian Air Force

Randi has a background as a non-commissioned officer in the Royal Norwegian Air Force, where she served for seven years on maritime surveillance aircraft. She worked on P-3 Orion at Andøya and later at Evenes, where she took part in the introduction of P-8 aircraft.

After her military service, she joined Polarkonsult, where she has worked as a project engineer and project manager—among other things on drainage philosophy for Johan Castberg and now on the Snøhvit Future project.

“When I started at Polarkonsult, I didn’t envision a leadership role. But as I gained more insight into how the processes work, I wanted to help develop the department further. We have a lot of competence, and I hope to strengthen what we’re already good at—while improving where we can,” says Randi.

Combining Technology and Visualization

The Energy Department works with documentation, training, and video production related to process facilities.

“We have both 3D animators and engineers, and that’s exactly what we excel at—combining these disciplines efficiently without too many revisions. We want to establish solid routines and continue developing our strengths,” she says.

Commitment to Growth in Northern Norway

“Randi knows our culture, our clients, and our technical foundation. That makes her a valuable leader for the next phase,” says Myhre.

Polarkonsult now has over 40 employees, with 12 in the Energy Department—and more on the way.
