Polarkonsult AS is a ship technology consulting company. The company provides ship design services to shipyards and shipping companies in both national and international markets, as well as engineering services to the petroleum industry.

Today is the day. Your vessel docks in a new port, ready for new challenges. There is a tingling sensation of anticipation, a flutter of excitement in the pit of your stomach. But what lies ahead, and what is the journey ahead? What do we expect from you? What can you expect from us?
Do not despair. We are ready to welcome you on board. While we may not fend off sea monsters that may have had your butterflies for breakfast, we are committed to ensuring that your training period is smooth and that you are looked after. Mastering your new role is important, especially as new in the job. At the same time, embracing challenges is how we grow. Mistakes happen, but if they do, don’t be afraid. Just raise the sails and try again.
But how will it be, you wonder? To chart the most steady course, we navigate with the help of HMS&K – which stands for health, environment, safety, and quality. The goal? To create a workplace where the risk of hazards and accidents is reduced, and to create a good working environment. One of our employees will have close follow-up with you so that you always have someone to ask if necessary.

Summer internship ahoy!
Are you a summer student with ambitions or a keen interest in ship design, marine engineering, or oil and gas?
This summer, we had the pleasure of hosting three students as part of our Summer Student Program. Two of them are studying at NTNU in Trondheim, while one is enrolled at UiT in Tromsø. They got to work with 3D programs and 3D printing in relation to boat design, compiling technical details in fact sheets, conducting research, and much more.

I really like my job and I enjoy working here at Polarkonsult. It’s a good and stabile job, and we have a lot of exiting projects. Living in Harstad suits me very well. I have all I need to thrive; a good job, a home, friends, and spare time activities I enjoy.
I’ve grown up here in Harstad, and I think that the city and region is evolving and are becoming more attractive. We have short distances, and I like the fact that I can walk to and from work.
Living in Harstad, you have the best of two worlds. Like living in a big city, you have all you need with stores and restaurants. But there is less stress here, and you are also surrounded with beautiful nature that is available for everyone. Harstad can also offer a lot of good culture and have a lot of festivals all year round.
