Green Technology for the Norwegian Coastal Administration\u2019s OV Utv\u00e6r and OV Skomv\u00e6r<\/span> \n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Polarkonsult has been awarded a contract with the Norwegian Coastal Administration (NCA) to provide maritime technical consultancy in connection with the planned conversion and upgrade of the NCA\u2019s vessel OV Utv\u00e6r. The objective is to implement green technology that reduces the vessel\u2019s greenhouse gas emissions and contributes to more sustainable maritime operations.<\/p>

The Norwegian Coastal Administration is in an early phase of the project, which will run toward 2026. Polarkonsult will be part of the NCA\u2019s project team, while also working independently on technical and economic assessments of relevant technology solutions. These evaluations will be based on the vessel\u2019s operational profile, with environmental accounting forming a key basis for decision-making.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A battery-electric energy solution is considered a particularly relevant option. A substantial part of the assignment will involve preparing technical specifications and drawings as the basis for a forthcoming public procurement process. Polarkonsult has extensive experience from similar maritime projects, in-depth knowledge of public procurement procedures, and strong familiarity with OV Utv\u00e6r and OV Skomv\u00e6r.<\/p>

If the Norwegian Coastal Administration decides to proceed with procurement, Polarkonsult will also assist in carrying out the public procurement process.<\/p>

The assignment has an upper financial framework of NOK 1.3 million. Polarkonsult\u2019s project manager, Arne Markussen, looks forward to a project of significant professional and environmental importance.<\/p>
