From Deckhand to COO<\/span> in a Company on the Rise<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Polarkonsult AS is strengthening its management team and has appointed Fredrik Holtet Lien as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). The newly established role takes effect from 1 December and is intended to enhance the company\u2019s operational capacity, commercial efforts, and regional presence at a time of increasing activity in Northern Norway.<\/p>

The appointment is part of a planned organizational development. When Lien joined Polarkonsult, there was already an intention that he could take on an expanded role in the company\u2019s leadership over time. Following a period of strong growth and increased project complexity, the timing is now right to establish the COO position.<\/p>

\u201cWe are facing a very exciting period for maritime and industrial development in Northern Norway. Polarkonsult has grown significantly in recent years, in terms of assignments, capacity, and professional environments. We want to be a clear and proactive player in the continued development, and Fredrik will have a key role in coordinating and further developing the company\u2019s work across disciplines and projects,\u201d says Managing Director Thomas Myhre.<\/p>

As COO, Lien will play a central role in strengthening and further developing the company\u2019s operational performance, in close cooperation with the management team and professional environments. He will also be closely involved in sales and marketing activities, with particular emphasis on customer dialogue, development of new opportunities, and strengthened collaboration across departments. The goal is to ensure that Polarkonsult presents itself as unified, clear, and professional in the market.<\/p>

Lien will at the same time continue as Head of the Defence Department at Polarkonsult\u2014an area that has seen significant development and is strategically important for the company going forward. The combination of roles is intended to ensure strong alignment between operations, market activities, and project execution, particularly within defence-related assignments.<\/p>

Lien Brings Strong Maritime Background\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Lien comes from the position of Head of the Defence Department at Polarkonsult, where he has worked for the past 1.5 years. He began his career with a deckhand certificate\u2014an occupational foundation he is particularly proud of and which laid the groundwork for his entire maritime career. He later completed navigator training at a maritime technical college and has worked as both chief mate and captain. His experience includes work with the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue, Hurtigruten, Narvik Port Authority, and tugboat operations along the Norwegian coast. In addition, he holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in International Emergency Management and a master\u2019s degree in Leadership from UiT The Arctic University of Norway.<\/p>

His workplace will be Narvik, strengthening Polarkonsult\u2019s presence in Mid-H\u00e5logaland and underscoring the company\u2019s commitment to growth in Norway\u2019s most dynamic and strategically important region.<\/p>
